Happy Windrush Day
A chance to celebrate and give thanks
Windrush Day is a chance to mark the anniversary of the HMT Empire Windrush arriving in Britain, celebrate British Caribbean communities and acknowledge the positive contribution they have made.
I am grateful for the warm welcome I received at the Warwick Afro-Carribean Society Ball and also to Isaac Newton Aquah for lending me this suit for the night.
I’m also pleased to say that Caribbean-Scottish relations remain strong, with Bahamian Youth Ambassador Karajayah Forbes-Schlagenhauf recently serving as Head Boy of St Leonard’s School in St Andrews.
