I am honoured that the meticulous and methodical Richard Garvin has started following this Substack. I’d better be careful what I say!

I’m grateful to Richard for taking this photograph of me when we were working on BBC One’s This Week show together in the mid 2010s. It was a wonderful show to work on and I have many happy memories of the team.

I’ve enjoyed listening to the episodes of Richard’s new show, The Matt Forde Focus Group, that I’ve heard on BBC Radio 4 so far. You can listen here.

Garvin brings his trademark wit and an impeccable mastery of British and international politics, in a lively, accessible and entertaining format.

It was particularly pleasant to hear the marvellous Miranda Green, who is surely one of the most insightful and also commendably kind commentators in Westminster. It’s well worth a listen.
