I recently listened to Robert Peston and Steph McGovern’s podcast The Rest is Money, discussing mental health.
It reminded me what a remarkably kind man Robert Peston is, operating in the notoriously cut-throat world of political journalism.
I was lucky enough to work with the legendary journalist on the launch of his new ITV show back in 2016 and I’ll always be grateful for the fantastic, fun team spirit and sense of loyalty he inspired among the whole team under the amazing leadership of Vicky Flind.
I’m inspired to think of all the school children whose horizons have been broadened through the work of Speakers for Schools, the enterprising charity Robert set up to encourage successful people from all professions to go and speak in schools.
Robert’s also heavily involved in the hospice movement in the UK, which speaks to his compassion and care.
I feel very fortunate to have had the privilege to work with such an impressive strategic mind. I feel lucky to see firsthand the positive impact his work has had.
