The Kingdom of Fun
By A. D. Bradley
From Buddo Rock’s sandstone stack,
To Lomond Hills, where vistas crack,
Two mounds, so pleasingly formed,
By nature & beauty’s hand warmed.
West Sands, East Sands, Castle Sands,
Sea dooks, buckets & spades in hand.
Gulls and gannets in skyward flight,
Warblers sing bringing morning light.
Red squirrels dart at Morton Lochs,
A chorizo crepe, Tentsmuir’s docks.
Sweet potato & salad at Cambo’s gate,
Anstruther’s fish and chips — first-rate.
Scottish tablet, vanilla ice cream,
Ruined abbeys, just like a dream.
Hill of Tarvit’s gardens so green,
Swans glide on Cameron, serene.
Cycling path to Eden Estuary shore,
A Kingdom that offers so much more.
Fresh air, clean water, Balgove’s fare,
The first University — beyond compare.
